SAN DIEGO -- A man accused of being a predatory renter and hijacking homes in San Diego is allegedly back at it again -- this time on the East Coast.John Forte was first exposed by the 10News I-Team in 2009 for renting homes in Point Loma, but never paying the rent.The I-Team learned 10 different landlords evicted him. The San Diego Police Department has been looking for Forte, and the district attorney's office charged him with writing $5,000 in bad checks."I'm trying very hard to clear my name," Forte told ABC News in New York.Alleged victims on the East Coast emailed the I-Team after watching and reading the March 2009 story on Forte.The ABC affiliate in New York interviewed him as he was kicked out of another house.When asked why he didn't pay the rent, Forte said, "I didn't have it."Forte threatened to sue the ABC affiliate in New York over the story.
