CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- Community volunteers Wednesday helped Camp Pendleton's 1st Marine Division pack 2 tons of medical, school and recreational supplies that will be distributed to Iraqis. Spirit of America, a national nonprofit service organization, collected the donated goods from around the country. The supplies will be distributed to Iraqis living in the Sunni triangle, where the Marine unit will soon be deployed, Camp Pendleton base officials said. Iraqis will also receive Frisbees and tote bags inscribed with the word "friendship" in both English and Arabic to promote good will with the troops. All the donations will carry a message reading, "A Gift Of Friendship From The American People."
