SAN DIEGO -- The federal government is moving to revoke bail for former San Diego City Councilman Ralph Inzunza, who was convicted in 2005 of accepting bribes from a Las Vegas strip club owner.A jury convicted Inzunza and former Councilman Michael Zucchet in July 2005 of accepting bribes from Las Vegas strip club owner Michael Galardi, who had business interests in San Diego and was seeking to overturn the city's so-called "no-touch" ordinance, which prohibits contact between exotic dancers and patrons at adult entertainment venues.Zucchet was later acquitted on all but two charges.Inzunza was initially sentenced to 21 months in prison in November 2005, but had been free on bail pending an appeal of his conviction. With the government's ruling, Inzunza has been ordered to begin serving his sentence.According to court documents, the U.S. Attorney wrote: "Inzunza has yet to serve one day of his prison sentence. Despite repeated stays of the mandate, the law requires that Inzunza now surrender and begin serving the sentence imposed."
