27 Arrested During Pacific Beach Checkpoint

SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Police Department announced on Sunday that 27 people were arrested during its drunken driving checkpoint in Pacific Beach.Out of the 725 cars screened Saturday night, 48 vehicles were held for further evaluation. Twenty-five people were arrested for suspicion of drunken driving, one passenger on suspicion of being drunk in public, and one driver for suspicion of felony narcotics possession, said Officer Mark McCullough.The checkpoint was on Grand Avenue at Mission Bay High School.
