Tuite Trial To Remain In San Diego

Judge Denies Attorney's Request For Delay

Richard Tuite's trial for the 1998 stabbing death of Stephanie Crowe will go on as scheduled in February.

Tuite, 34, is accused of killing Crowe in her Escondido home nearly six years ago.

Thursday, a judge denied defense attorney Brad Patton's motion to delay the trial.

He also denied Patton's request for a change of venue.

The North County Times reported a court survey of 200 people who appeared for jury duty in November revealed that while about 75 percent knew of the case, most were unsure whether Tuite was the killer.

The case returns to court next month for motions regarding trial evidence.
