SAN DIEGO -- A 5-year-old boy from New York started a donation for San Diego's fire victims -- and a truck filled with supplies arrived Monday.
The boy's father, Jeff Parness, drove a truck filled with clothes, toys and tools from New York City to a St. Vincent de Paul Village's warehouse.
Evan Parness got the idea to start the collection after he saw a television report on the fires. He said he was touched by a woman talking about how her daughter did not have a costume for Halloween. The donations will be handed out to various fire outreach centers.
