SAN DIEGO - A broken irrigation system caused a thin 25-foot geyser to sprout behind the San Diego Convention Center early Wednesday, police said.
The geyser in the area of 111 W. Harbor Drive was reported about 3:45 a.m., according to San Diego harbor police Sgt. Sal Colin.
Two hours later, water continued to shoot into the air but there was no impact to the convention center, he said, noting a minor amount of flood water was flowing down curbside drains.
The city's water department was working on stopping it.
