More than 25,000 runners hit the pavement for Sunday's 2012 Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon.

10News' media partner U-T San Diego reported that Nixon Machichim, of Kenya, won the marathon and finished in 2 hours, 10 minutes and 3 seconds.

The U-T also reported that Alevtina Ivanova of Russia won the women's marathon in 2:27:44.

Meb Keflezighi won the half-marathon in 1:03:11, the newspaper reported. Kim Smith, of New Zealand, won the women's half-marathon, according to the U-T.

The course winds out of Balboa Park through downtown and back up to Mission Valley and Mission Bay and finishes at SeaWorld.
