Teen Grabbed While Training For Cross-Country

Police Searching For Green F-150

POSTED: 5:01 am PDT September 8, 2010

San Diego police Wednesday were on the lookout for a heavy built man accused of trying to kidnap a 15-year-old cross country runner while she was on a training run in Nestor.

The Southwest High School student athlete was in the 1900 block of Hollister Street about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday when a dark green Ford F-150 pickup truck with hay bales in the bed pulled up, said San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

A man in the passenger seat reached out his window and grabbed the girl's hand, Delimitros said, adding that she pulled away and ran off.

Police described the man as Hispanic, in his 40s, with a heavy build, gray hair and mustache. Also, he wore a brown cowboy hat, Delimitros said.
