FALLBROOK, Calif. -- An 18-year-old man is in custody Wednesday, accused of working with another young man to try to steal tires off a vehicle at a Fallbrook car dealership.Erick Arreola and a 17-year-old accomplice were interrupted while trying to steal tires off a Toyota pickup truck at Autohaus Car Dealership at 1551 S. Mission Road at about 11:55 p.m. Monday, San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. David Gilmore said.Deputies patrolling the area at that time heard the truck's alarm sound off and gave chase after they saw the younger would-be thief jump a fence, Gilmore said. The 17-year-old, whose name was withheld because he is a minor, was arrested and released to his parents, according to the sergeant.Investigators later identified Arreola as the second suspect and arrested him at his home, Gilmore said, adding that Arreola was booked into Vista jail.He and the minor face attempted grand theft and conspiracy charges, both felonies, according to Gilmore.
