Wenceslao Acevedo Mendez Plead Guilty To Raping 15-Year-Old

VISTA, Calif. -- Sentencing was delayed Friday for a man who raped a 15-year-old distant relative soon after meeting her for the first time.Wenceslao Acevedo Mendez, 35, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to forcible rape.He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 16 by Vista Judge Robert Kearney.Escondido police said Mendez entered the victim's Escondido home on July 13, forced her into a back bedroom, locked the door and raped her. The teen told her father about the rape later the same day and he called police.Mendez, a cousin of the girl's stepmother, was arrested after police used a tracking device to find him.At the time, Mendez was under orders to wear a GPS ankle bracelet due to pending deportation proceedings against him.
