Crews Contain Fire Near Sycamore Landfill

SANTEE, Calif. -- Fire crews quickly contained a fire just north of the Sycamore Landfill near Miramar Base in the Santee area.The fire was first reported shortly after 4:30 p.m. off of Mast Boulevard and burned less than an acre as of 4:45 p.m., according to authorities.Air support was initially summoned to battle the blaze, but was called off when ground crews took control of the flames, 10News reported.No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.Federal fire officials, San Diego fire officials and Santee fire officials are investigating the fire.
