A man was arrested early Monday in Mira Mesa after he allegedly stabbed his wife in the chest with a pair of scissors and cut his 7-year-old son's chest during an argument, police said.

The stabbing at the family's residence in the 10200 block of Keoki Street was reported shortly before 1 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

None of the injuries were life-threatening, he said.

The man's name was not immediately released. He is believed to be between 30 and 40 years old and has a history of mental illness, according to broadcast reports.
