LA COSTA, Calif. -- Main draw play in the $700,000 Mercury Insurance Open begins Monday at the La Costa Resort and Spa, with three singles matches and two doubles matches.

No seeded singles players will be in action Monday. In the morning session, which begins at 11 a.m., Alisa Kleybanova of Russia will face Aravane Rezai of France, followed by a match between Olga Govortsova of Belarus and Sara Errani of Italy.

There will also be a doubles match with the top-seeded duo of Gisela Dulko of Argentina and Flavia Pennetta of Italy taking on American Abigail Spears and Natalie Grandin of South Africa. The final four singles qualifying matches will also be played.

In the evening session, Alona Bondareno of Ukraine will face Dinara Safina of Russia at 7 p.m., followed by a doubles match between Su-Wei Hsieh of Taiwan and Meghann Shaughnessy of the United States and Russians Svetlana Kuznetsova and Vera Zvonareva.

Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, the world's 18th-ranked player, will conduct a clinic for children on the Stadium Court beginning at 9:30 a.m. Participants are asked to arrive at 9 a.m.

Azarenka will sign autographs at 2 p.m. in the sponsor pavilion near the Mercury Insurance booth.
