Manuel Moreno, 56, Dies After Incident At Oceanside Plant Nursery

OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- Authorities released the name Thursday of a Valley Center man killed when he got pulled partway into a composting machine at the North County plant nursery where he worked.Manuel Moreno, 56, got his arm caught on a conveyor belt feeding the device at Evergreen Nursery in Oceanside about 9 a.m. Tuesday. He was then dragged up against a hopper component of the machine, suffering fatal injuries, police Lt. Leonard Mata said.Moreno, a 20-year employee of the Oceanside Boulevard business, died at the scene.
