POSTED: 4:25 am PDT July 26, 2010

Authorities Monday were looking to identify a pedestrian who was killed when he was struck by a car on state Route 67 near Bradley Avenue.

The man, believed to be about 25-30 years old, was struck about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in a southbound lane by a Nissan Murano and was thrown into the northbound lanes, where he was struck by multiple vehicles, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

California Highway Patrol officers and El Cajon fire personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
