Girl Accused Of Slashing Teen Faces 4 Felonies
Girl, 14, Allegedly Stabbed 16-Year-Old Fellow Crawford HS Student

SAN DIEGO -- A 14-year-old Crawford High School student was formally charged in the slashing of a 16-year-old girl on Friday.The mother of the 16-year-old victim told 10News, "Justice is not done yet … it hasn't begun yet."10News tried to speak to the Daphne Van, the mother of the accused attacker, but she declined to comment after her daughter's court appearance.However, Van spoke to 10News on Tuesday about the slashing incident and said, "The girl walked up to Ashley and just started hitting her on the back of her head. I don't know how Ash got a knife. A little knife, I don't know where she got it from, but she stuck the girl because the girl was all on top of her."The 14-year-old girl faces four felony charges, including one count of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of possession of a weapon on school grounds. The charges could equal up to 13 years in prison.Deputy District Attorney Cherie Somerville said, "The court made a determination that for the protection of the minor and the welfare of the community, the minor would remain detained based on the serious nature of the charges."The victim, identified as Saundralina, suffered a serious wound to her neck. She told 10News she is scared to return to school once she is released from the hospital.10News learned the two students may have been arguing over a pair of pants.
