ENCINITAS, Calif. -- A suspected drunken driver was in custody Wednesday, accused of running into a stopped vehicle on Interstate 5 in Encinitas and leading law enforcement on a pursuit that ended in Orange County, authorities said.The California Highway Patrol got a report that an older man driving a maroon Lincoln sedan struck a stopped vehicle on the shoulder of I-5 near Manchester Avenue about 6:10 p.m. Tuesday.CHP officers and Border Patrol agents tried unsuccessfully to stop the car near the San Onofre checkpoint, according to the CHP, which put out a spike strip that flattened all four tires north of Junipero Serra Road in Orange County.The man, whose name was unavailable, was arrested on suspicion of evading and drunken driving and booked into jail in San Diego County. No one was reported injured.
