YMCA Worker, Alleged Child Molester Surrenders To Police
Meraz Allegedly Molested Three Children

SAN DIEGO -- A Chula Vista YMCA childcare worker is in jail Thursday night for allegedly molesting children.
Police said Daniel Meraz, 24, allegedly molested at least three children.
An investigation began in April when a Chula Vista family reported their daughter was touched inappropriately by an employee of a YMCA after-school childcare program at Arroyo Vista Elementary School.
Chula Vista Police Sgt. John McAvenia said, "We have three children interviewed at Children's Hospital and the D.A. has since decided to issue charges based on what those children are saying. So today, Mr. Mirza came down with his lawyer and turned himself in to the Chula Vista Police Department."
Meraz surrendered to Chula Vista police Thursday afternoon.
