Victim Stabbed Several Times At Los Panchos Taco Shop On Washington Street

SAN DIEGO -- A 30-year-old Chula Vista man stabbed three days ago at a Mexican restaurant in Hillcrest succumbed to his wounds, and his assailant remains at large, authorities reported Friday.The victim was waiting for a food order at Los Panchos Taco Shop in the 400 block of Washington Street when he got into a quarrel with two other patrons shortly after midnight Tuesday, according to San Diego police.During the argument, one of the men suddenly stabbed the victim, then ran off to the east along with his cohort, SDPD homicide Lt. Ernie Herbert said.
Medics took the wounded man to nearby Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he died about 9:40 p.m. Thursday. His name was withheld pending family notification."The motive for the stabbing has not been determined," Herbert said Friday evening.
