Man Killed In Otay Mesa Accident

SAN DIEGO -- An investigation is under way Thursday into a traffic accident in Otay Mesa involving a man in his 50s who was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer truck, police said.The man died at the scene after being struck in the 6900 block of Camino Maquiladora around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, said Officer Brad Ruff of the San Diego Police Department.Prior to the accident, the man parked his car along the curb line and stepped out the vehicle in front of the eastbound truck, Ruff said.Alcohol was not suspected, and the truck driver was not immediately cited, according to Ruff.The victim's name was withheld pending family notification.
