CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- Two thieves broke into a South Bay bowling alley and hauled away an automated teller machine early Wednesday.Surveillance video footage captured images of one of the bandits using some type of tool to smash the front windows at Eastlake Tavern and Bowl on Showroom Place in Chula Vista, police spokesman Bernard Gonzales said.He and his accomplice then pulled the cash machine from its moorings and loaded it into a vehicle that appeared to be an older-model Chevrolet Suburban, possibly outfitted with a roof rack, according to Gonzales.
A janitor arriving for work discovered the theft and made an emergency call shortly after 4 a.m., police said.
