San Diego Superior Court Closed Wednesday

All State Courts Closed Due To Financial Crisis

POSTED: 6:47 am PDT March 17, 2010

All courtrooms and business offices of the San Diego Superior Court will remain closed Wednesday as part of the one-day-a-month closure for all state courts resulting from California's financial crisis.

The California Judicial Council approved the unprecedented closures because of the Legislature's reduced state funding to the courts. San Diego County's court closures began last September.

Court facilities housing county operations such as the District Attorney's Office, Probation and Child Support will be open on Wednesday, but courtrooms will stay closed.

The public is urged to visit the court's Web site at www.sdcourt.ca.gov to handle traffic tickets or get court information. A recorded message regarding the court closure is available at (619) 450-7400.

The monthly closures are expected to continue through June.
