SAN DIEGO -- A woman who led police on a chase through residential streets after a robbery in Southcrest, which ended with a shootout that left a co-defendant wounded, pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempted murder and assault with a firearm on a peace officer.Isaura Morales, 23, will be sentenced to 10 years in state prison at an April 27 hearing before Judge Kathleen Lewis.Prosecutors said another woman, Andrea Maria Ramos, and Jeff Quijano robbed a woman at knifepoint about 7:45 p.m. last June 10 in the 3800 block of Gamma Street and fled in a van -- with Morales driving -- when the victim said police were coming.Three San Diego police plainclothes detectives driving in the area saw the van's driver run a stop sign and go into an alley near 39th and Teak streets.Quijano, 22, allegedly got into a shooting position and fired at the detectives' unmarked car, narrowly missing the windshield of their vehicle, prosecutors said. Two of the detectives returned fire and wounded Quijano. At that point, Ramos took over driving the van and eventually crashed it into a guardrail near Palm Avenue under an Interstate 805 overpass, authorities said.Quijano and another co-defendant, Jose Lopez, will be back in court April 7 for a status conference. Both face charges of attempted murder and assault on the officers, said Deputy District Attorney Valerie Summers.Ramos pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to robbery and reckless evading and was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison.
