Police: Boy Who Shot Air-Soft Gun Detained
Park Village Elementary Staff Member Struck By Pellet

SAN DIEGO -- Police said they have detained a boy allegedly responsible for firing an air-soft gun pellet that struck an instructional aide at a Rancho Penasquitos-area school.The incident was reported shortly after 2 p.m. at Park Village Elementary School, police said.Police were told the shot may have come from a nearby canyon in search, and they made the canyon the focus of their search.Authorities told 10News' Nina Jimenez the aide struck by the pellet was not injured.Police said the boy told them he unintentionally shot the air-soft gun, and he was released to his parents while juvenile authorities decide whether any charges will be filed against him.
