SAN DIEGO -- As James Sikes' account of the runaway Toyota Prius is being put under a microscope, so are other aspects of his life. From his bankruptcy to $700,000 of debt, 10News has learned there are now questions about Sikes' real estate license and his dating service for swingers.Sikes and his wife, Patty, used a Web site to attract customers for their real estate business. Patty Sikes is licensed and broker supervised but 10News learned that according to James Sikes' real estate license he is a salesperson with no broker affiliation.Tom Pool of the Department of Real Estate said James Sikes "cannot engage in any acts for which a license is required" -- which means he cannot sell real estate unless he is working with a broker and records showed he is not.The couple's Web site, it says "We are a one stop real estate Web site, and I'll personally guide you through."James Sikes also has a Web site that guides swingers looking for like-minded individuals. Records the I-Team obtained from the California Secretary of State showed Sikes launched his dating service Web site AdultSwingLife.com last year. The Web site claims it "offers hot and erotic friends and playmates for wild adult-dating hookups."The Web site lists an address that is the same address on James Sikes' real estate license. The I-Team went to the address -- 1010 University Ave., Bldg. 113 in Hillcrest -- and it is the Postal Place, a mailbox drop for the Sikeses' real estate office and the swingers Web site.10News tried to contact Sikes to talk about the swingers Web site and his real estate license, but he has not called back. Sikes' attorney said there would be no comment on the Web site and the real estate license. However, car safety advocate Rosemary Shahan told 10News despite Sikes' personal financial troubles or background, that doesn't mean his tale of terror on Interstate 8 last week should be discounted."I find him totally credible," said Shahan.
