SAN DIEGO -- A man was fatally struck by a vehicle on a freeway in North Park after he spent several minutes dancing around in traffic lanes, authorities said.

The fatality on northbound Interstate 805 at El Cajon Boulevard occurred around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man, whose name and age were not immediately released, walked onto the freeway shortly before 9:30 p.m. and hit several cars with his fists while dancing around, the CHP reported. He died at the scene, according to the agency.
