Motorcyclist Rescued By Helicopter On Tecate Peak

TECATE, Calif. -- A 46-year-old motorcyclist who crashed on Tecate Peak was rescued by crewmen on a pair of sheriff's helicopters Sunday.The choppers were called out around 12:30 p.m. to locate the victim, who was spotted on a remote fire road about 2,600 feet up the northwest face of the mountain, sheriff's Cpl. Tony Webber said.The crew of one helicopter landed and rendered first aid to the man, who suffered a shoulder injury, Webber said.He said the victim was hoisted into a second helicopter and taken to flatter ground, where he was transferred to an ambulance, Webber said.
