A search was under way Monday for whoever killed a 42-year-old man at a North Park strip club, shooting him several times in the groin, police said.

Officers rushed to Ten's Showclub at 4307 Ohio St. around 9:40 p.m. Sunday in response to reports of gunfire, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Bar employees told the officers that four men in their 20s started a fight inside the bar after being asked to leave for being disruptive, Lt. Kevin Rooney said, adding that two of the four pulled out guns and began firing.

The 42-year-old victim was subsequently found in the business's east parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds to the groin, police said. He died at a hospital at 10:14 p.m., Rooney said. His name was withheld pending family notification.

After the shooting, police detained a man in the 3100 block of Meade Avenue and identified him as one of the four men who had been asked to leave the bar. Rooney said the man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for throwing and striking another patron with a beer glass before the shooting.
