Teen Arrested Following DUI Crash

SAN DIEGO -- A teenager was arrested for drunken driving Sunday for running a red light and crashing into a car driven by a woman, who was hurt in the crash, a Chula Vista police lieutenant said.The crash happened around 4:45 a.m. when 19-year-old Julian Tavasci was driving on Palomar Street and went through a red light at Olympic Parkway, Lt. Fritz Reber said.Tavasci's vehicle collided with one by a 51-year-old woman. Her car rolled over, and officers had to break a window to get her out, Reber said. She was the only occupant. She was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, according to Reber.The lieutenant said Tavasci appeared intoxicated, and was arrested on suspicion of felony drunken driving causing injuries. He also had no proof of insurance, the officer said.
