Motorcyclist, Passenger Injured In SD Crash

Motorcyclist Suffered Serious Pelvis, Knee Injuries

POSTED: 6:47 am PST March 12, 2010

A 24-year-old man is hospitalized Friday with serious but not life-threatening injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car in Sherman Heights, police said.

The eastbound car turned in front of the westbound motorcycle in the 1900 block of Market Street shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday, said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The motorcyclist suffered serious pelvis and knee injuries, Stafford said, adding that he was expected to survive. A 21-year-old passenger on the motorcycle had minor injuries, according to Stafford.

Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, Stafford said.
