ESCONDIDO, Calif. -- A man found unconscious with severe head injuries in a coastal North County parking lot 10 days ago died Tuesday at a hospital.Thomas Elliot, 24, was pronounced dead Tuesday morning at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, sheriff's Sgt. Dave Martinez said.Elliot was found lying in a parking area in the 2600 block of South Coast Highway 101 in the Cardiff-by-the-Sea neighborhood of Encinitas about 2 a.m. on Feb. 27. Elliot never regained consciousness, according to Martinez.The death was being investigated as a possible homicide, the sergeant said. No suspects have been publicly identified.
