Park View All-Stars Back From Snowy D.C. Trip

The Park View All-Stars are back home in San Diego Tuesday after escaping rough weather during their visit to Washington, D.C.

The Little League World Series champions arrived at Lindbergh Field in their familiar sky-blue caps and spoke highly of their trip of a lifetime.

"One hundred-percent amazing," said player Luke Ramirez.

During their trip last week, the team met President Obama at the White House and saw the nation's capital hit by a storm of epic proportions.

Player Andy Rios, who had never seen snow before, told 10News, "It was fun just to tackle people in there, snowball fights, playing football. It was just awesome."

"These kids do everything historic. So we got in there with this historic snowstorm," said league president Rod Roberto.

Although the weather closed the museums and other places they wanted to visit, the highlight of the journey was meeting Obama.

"We're just a bunch of kids that are playing on a baseball team, and to get to meet the president, that was pretty cool," said Ramirez.

"Meeting the president, going to the White House, shaking his hand was the most exciting part of the trip," added player Bradley Roberto.

While the team was due to arrive home Sunday, the weather said otherwise. They were slated to travel from Baltimore to Denver and then to San Diego. However, they departed Baltimore, stopped in Cleveland, headed to Nashville, then Phoenix and finally touched down in San Diego.

"A+ … if there was anything higher than A+, I'd pick that," Ramirez said of the trip.

The team arrived home in four different groups due to the severe weather.
