JUPITER, Fla. -- An elderly man accidentally shot himself outside a Jupiter gun store Monday afternoon, Jupiter police said.

Authorities said the victim was sitting in his vehicle outside Chuck's Guns & Ammo when he accidentally shot himself in the leg with a semi-automatic weapon, West Palm Beach television station WPBF reported.

Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue spokesman Don DeLucia said the victim was 80 years old.

The victim was airlifted to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach. His name and condition were not immediately available.
