Teen, 18, Is Second Skateboarder Struck By Car In Vista In Recent Weeks

VISTA, Calif. -- An 18-year-old skateboarder struck by a car in Vista suffered two broken legs and was hospitalized Saturday.The accident on Cedar Road and West Vista Way was reported at 4:20 p.m. Friday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.A 27-year-old Oceanside man told sheriff's deputies he was driving north on Cedar when the youth suddenly veered into his path, the newspaper reported.On Jan. 29, Lucas Giaconelli, 15, of Vista, was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver about 7 p.m. on Thibodo Road near Edna Way. The driver has been identified but is yet to be cited in connection with the death.
