SAN DIEGO -- A trolley collided with a mail van at an East Village intersection today, injuring two light-rail passengers, authorities reported.

The accident at Park Boulevard and G Street was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m., according to police and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Medics took one trolley customer, a man in his 40s who uses a wheelchair, to Scripps Mercy Hospital, SDFRD spokesman Maurice Luque said.

Another passenger, a woman also in her 40s, was transported to Kaiser Hospital. Neither patient suffered serious injuries, and the driver of the post-office vehicle was unharmed, according to Luque.
