SAN DIEGO -- The owners of a Mira Mesa restaurant and bakery were each fined $1,750 for food safety violations and ordered out of the food service business for three years, the City Attorney's Office announced Friday.Lauro Cornejo Prijoles and Cristina Gutierrez Prijoles, the owners of Cristy's Bakery and Restaurant on Mira Mesa Boulevard, each pleaded no contest to two counts each for separate instances of failing to maintain food at required temperatures, according to the City Attorney Jan Goldsmith's office.The Prijoles were also ordered not to own, manage, operate or supervise food employees at any eatery, in conjunction with the terms of the three-year probation order, according to the City Attorney's Office.
They must also agree to pay for unannounced food safety inspections at the restaurant, which is now being run by their son, according to a city attorney's spokeswoman.
