Motorist Hurt In Wreck Involving CHP Cruiser

SAN DIEGO -- A collision involving a California Highway Patrol cruiser on Interstate 8 in the Del Cerro area left a civilian motorist with minor injuries Wednesday evening and snarled rush-hour traffic in the area.The accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the freeway, just west of College Avenue, the CHP reported.The female CHP officer involved in the wreck was unhurt, but another driver suffered superficial injuries.
The crash caused heavier-than-usual traffic for several miles along the interstate for about an hour, according to the state agency.
