SAN DIEGO -- Feeding America San Diego was given more than 10,000 rolls of tape and 9,000 boxes by Cox Communications to help with holiday food distribution, it was announced Wednesday. The boxes and tape will be distributed to Feeding America's 150 local partner agencies who will assemble and fill the boxes with food to be distributed to needy families in San Diego for Christmas."Boxes and tape are very expensive, and our partner agencies use so much of it during the holidays to assemble food boxes," said Gary McDonald, Feeding America San Diego's chief executive officer. "Now instead of paying for supplies, they can concentrate their efforts on getting more food to people who need it most."Feeding America San Diego, which was established in 2007, is the largest distributor of donated food in the county.
