Woman, 52, Stabs Ex-Boyfriend In Back

POSTED: 6:28 am PST December 10, 2009

A 52-year-old woman is in custody Thursday for stabbing her former boyfriend in the back during a fight in Clairemont, leaving the 48-year-old man with a non-life-threatening knife wound, police said.

Officers were called to Par Grocery and Liquor in the 5100 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

On arriving, they found the injured man, who was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening wound, Stafford said. The woman was found nearby, arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into county jail.

The names of the suspect and her alleged victim were not immediately released.

Stafford said the stabbing occurred at a house before the man made his way on foot to the liquor store.
