2 Taken To Hospital After Stabbing In Lakeside

LAKESIDE, Calif. -- A 22-year-old man was arrested Friday on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a fight at a house party in Lakeside that sent two men to the hospital, one in critical condition, authorities said.Deputies were called to Riverview Avenue and Water Hill Road at 9:23 p.m. Thursday, said San Diego County sheriff's homicide Lt. Dennis Brugos.They arrived and found David Fleming, Jr., 29, in critical condition with stab wounds, Brugos said, adding that a second man was also stabbed. His name was not released.Both men were taken to hospitals, according to a Heartland fire dispatcher. The extent of the second man's injury was not immediately reported.Witnesses identified the assailant as Jacob Otto Hume. He and the other men were attending a party at a home in the 9600 block of Riverview Avenue when a fight erupted in the street, Brugos said. The cause of the fight was under investigation.Hume fled the scene before deputies arrived but was found around 2:15 a.m. at the home of a relative in Lakeside, according to Brugos. He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder.
