Delta Airlines Announces Nonstop SD To Honolulu Flights

Delta Air Lines announced Wednesday that it will add daily nonstop flights from San Diego to Honolulu, beginning June 3.

"The expanded customer base created through Delta's merger with Northwest allows us to bring new service to markets that previously did not have the demand to sustain nonstop flights," said Bob Cortelyou, the airline's senior vice president.

The flights will be aboard Boeing 757 and Airbus 330 aircraft.

Flights will depart San Diego daily at 5:45 p.m. and arrive in Honolulu at 8:45 p.m. Flights will depart from Honolulu daily at 10 p.m. and arrive in San Diego at 6:50 a.m.

Delta also plans to begin service between Detroit and Honolulu, starting June 2. Those flights were suspended in 2004.
