Shooting Leaves 1 Dead In Escondido

ESCONDIDO, Calif. -- Police conducted an investigation Monday into a shooting that left a 23-year-old man dead in Escondido.The unidentified man was shot in the abdomen around 8:45 p.m. Monday outside a residence on Wilson Avenue, near Buchanan Street, according to the Escondido Police Department. He died in a hospital a short time later, police said.The man's name was withheld pending family notification, and no other details were immediately released.Police urged anyone with information on the shooting to call 760-839-4722.
