One Injured In Senior Living Apartment Fire

NATIONAL CITY, Calif -- A fire in an apartment at a senior living community in National City sent one man to the hospital and forced residents to evacuate.The fire was reported at the Golden Paradise Senior Living community, 2525 Highland Ave. at 6:45 p.m. Firefighters said the fire started in a third floor apartment when a man's oxygen tank exploded after he lit a cigarette.
The man was transported to the hospital and is listed in serious condition. Residents forced from their homes are in other units for the night.
