La Mesa Woman Sentenced For Shooting Husband

EL CAJON, Calif. -- A woman who shot her husband during an argument in their La Mesa home was sentenced Friday to 120 days in custody, probation and a domestic violence recovery program.Kalisa Wells, 60, a caterer and party planner, faced up to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of corporal injury to a spouse and an allegation that she personally used a firearm.Her husband, former KGTV news director Donald M. Wells, 55, was shot in the hip and spent four days in a hospital.Officers arrested Kalisa Wells at the scene of the May 29 shooting and found a revolver on a kitchen counter.She was sentenced by El Cajon Judge William McGrath.
