Teens Accused In Fires, Vandalism Arrested

SAN DIEGO -- Three teenage boys were behind bars Wednesday for allegedly torching two city vehicles and part of an outbuilding and scrawling racist graffiti at a municipal maintenance yard in Vista last summer.The late-night Aug. 20 arson fires and vandalism at Buena Vista Park remained unsolved until this week, when investigators identified the youths, ages 16 and 17, as the alleged perpetrators, San Diego County Sheriff's Department Detective Pat Shannon said.One teen was arrested on Tuesday, and the other two Wednesday. All three will face charges of vandalism and arson, Shannon said. Their names were withheld because they are minors.
Shannon declined to disclose what led investigators to identify the boys as the suspects.
