Deputies Search For Man Who Tried To Grab Girl

SPRING VALLEY, Calif. -- Parents have been warned and San Diego County Sheriff's deputies are on the lookout after a young girl said a man tried to grab her while she was on her way to school Wednesday morning.The alleged incident happened in the area near Paraiso Avenue and Apple Street, which is close to La Presa Middle School in Spring Valley, deputies said.According to deputies, the man told the girl, "I've been watching you and your sisters." The man then asked the girl for her phone number but she told him she did not have one. After the man asked the girl if he could give her a ride to school, the ran away to a store where she called her mother and waited until deputies arrived.
Last week, deputies said another girl was approached by the same man in the same area.School officials have sent a letter to parents regarding the incidents.The man is described as Hispanic, in his early 40s with wrinkled skin and dark hair.He was driving a 1997 dark-green Dodge Caravan.
