Pacific Beach Man Tricked, Robbed

POSTED: 9:42 am PST November 8, 2009
UPDATED: 9:49 am PST November 8, 2009

About $2,500 worth of property was stolen from a Pacific Beach residence by two men, who claimed they were owed money by one of two roommates living there, police said Sunday.

The two thieves talked their way into the home in the 1800 block of Diamond Street, near Ingraham Street, about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, telling the man there that his roommate owed them cash from a business transaction, said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The man said he thought the two intruders would hurt him if he tried to stop them as they took about $2500 worth of property out of his roommate's room, said Stafford.

The first suspect was described as a short, heavily tattooed, white man in his 30s. He was wearing a white or tan shirt and jeans.

The second suspect was described as a white man, also in his 30s, about 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a muscular build and short hair. He was wearing a gray shirt.

Robbery detectives are investigating.
