Armed Man Robs Imperial Beach Credit Union

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. -- A man armed with a pistol robbed a South Bay credit union Friday morning, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.The holdup at North Island Credit Union on Palm Avenue in Imperial Beach was reported about 10:45 a.m., sheriff's Lt. Julie Sutton said.After stealing an undetermined amount of cash, the thief ran off to the south, Sutton said.Witnesses described him as a thin man between 25 and 35 years old, wearing a gray sweatshirt, black baseball cap and sunglasses.
