SAN DIEGO -- Two men are in custody Wednesday accused of robbing pizza delivery drivers at gunpoint after luring them with bogus food orders to vacant apartments in Casa de Oro, authorities said.David Selmon, 27, and Clarence Rodgers, 25, were arrested Tuesday morning at their apartment home in the Villas of Casa de Oro, 3860 Helix St., according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Jeff Maxin.Detectives believe Selmon and Rodgers robbed two pizza delivery drivers in separate incidents over the past two weeks, Maxin said. The men allegedly lured the drivers to vacant apartment units within the same complex where they live.
In one of the robberies, the driver was pistol whipped when he did not immediately comply with the robbers' demands.Evidence from the robberies was found within the men's apartment, Maxin said, without providing any details on the alleged evidence. Both men have criminal pasts, according to police. Selmon was a parolee-at-large, while Rodgers was wanted on an assault with a deadly weapon warrant, according to the sergeant.A 16-year-old boy inside the suspects' apartment when deputies arrived Tuesday morning was also arrested for possession of stolen property related to an armed robbery, Maxin said. His name was withheld because he is a minor. It's unclear what the relationship was between the juvenile and the suspects. The teen was booked into Juvenile Hall. The men were taken to San Diego Central Jail.
